Big Pockets

from More or Less? by Mark Pawlowski

/

lyrics

She has great big pockets where she carries all of us
No matter what we look like if we're big or if we're small
In her great big pockets she carries us along
everyone's included, and knows that they belong

La la la la La la la La la la la La la
La la la la La la la La la la la La la

Before she sewed them in we would wander everywhere,
dancing on the counters, round the porch and under chairs
Totally unsupervised, let loose inside the house,
expecting to be trampled or get bitten by a mouse

La la la la La la la La la la la La la
La la la la La la la La la la la La la

She strolls in fields of dewy grass At the breaking of the day,
Turns her pockets inside out and urges us to play
She smiles to see us hide and seek, counting one to ten,
And when the darkness comes around invites us all back in

She shines like the sun
She looks after everyone
When trouble comes she is aware
and gently calls us back inside

Inside her big pockets are every rare delight,
Rainbows, and swimming holes, puppy dogs and kites,
Everyone is lost in play, and leaving quite a mess,
She yawns and shakes her head, expecting nothing
less

La la la la La la la La la la la La la
